As the teacher you model and encourage student’s different interests, learning styles, and needs. The teacher comes up with different activities and lessons that demonstrate respect for different cultures. Teacher builds relationship between curriculum and community cultures as well. In doing this, the teacher forms unity amongst students and students are able to work cooperatively and diligently while understanding how each person is culturally different in their surroundings.

Learner-Centered KnowledgeTeacher demonstrates her knowledge of subject matter and helps students understand various arrangements of thinking strictly to discipline. The teacher is current with knowledge and is actively and collaboratively participating in professional development activities. Teacher organizes and chooses issues where students will make clear connections of what is taught in the classroom and what they experience outside the classroom. In order to further develop perspectives the teacher includes technological resources so learners could understand themes of subject matter from many different aspects as possible.

As a leader, she will need to be capable of expressing her ideas to students, colleagues, professionals, families, and the community. Teaching is a people oriented career and communication will continuously be her primary method of relating with others. A teacher will need to be skilled at verbal, nonverbal, and use of media and technology to communicate effectively.

To stay current with the dynamic flow of new information, the teacher will constantly be sure to engage in professional growth opportunities, attend in-services, collaborates with colleagues, read literature, and use media and technology for her lifelong education. She will conduct herself professionally and base all her decisions on integrity and the highest standard of ethics. She will dress and behave in a manner that reflects her professionalism. Professional development involves knowing and respecting the laws, policies, and adopted procedures of her school district and those she works with. She must be knowledgeable of teacher responsibilities and student rights.
